Rain In The Shining Sun

I only cry when the sun is shining

when a fog settles over pain

when waiting water runs dry

leaving drought in constant rain

I only cry when the sun is shining

when no one can touch my tears

when hiding in the vast open

does well to hide vast fears

I only cry when the sun is shining

when it illuminates my soul

when all I hate is all I see

a spirit made of blackest coal

I only cry when the sun is shining

when all that holds me does not

when all there is, is absence of trust

in the light in which I rot
