Juliet (At First Sight)

Who taught us to hate
but those who hate? Therefore
must we teach ourselves to love?
Who can truly be relied upon
if no one shows us worthiness
of looking to them for guidance?
And if all are found unworthy,
then who amongst us will seed
the blessed truth of love
to be grown within all in need?
For need is nothing less than emptiness
desiring to be filled. What then shall fill
emptiness and, if not hate’s fiery heat,
who shall offer hearts the pleasure
of dancing to loving beats? Who,
but for those the music plays
as his eyes kiss hers at first glance,
rendering eternity a slave to moonlit wishes
captured in unexpected romance?
