Food For Thought

Like normal human beings, I’m the type of person who is easily distracted by YouTube. However, I tend to like to feel that I’ve gotten something out of the hours… uhh… minutes that I spend watching videos, which is why I like channels such as AsapSCIENCE. What they do is offer quick science-backed facts in their videos, sometimes dispelling myths while other times just passing along some interesting information.

For example, a recent video they’ve uploaded is one on the idea of what is a natural food. Is it one free of chemicals you can’t pronounce? Are man-made chemicals really harmful? If you have a few minutes, you can find the answers here:

By the way, this is not to say that all food you find in the supermarket is healthy. Of course there are many factors not touched on in this video. But these videos are a nice way of stimulating interest in the subject and encouraging further research.

A couple of other videos that I’ve particularly found interesting are The Science of BACON and Childbirth vs Getting Kicked in the Balls. I think it’s obvious why I find that last one interesting.

If you like these videos, then check out the AsapSCIENCE channel on YouTube.
