Run-Ons

Sometimes I forget
that people have families,
friends,
other people,
loved ones to keep them safe,
hold them when scared,
shelter them when thunder roars
and rain falls,
believe in them
when robbed of belief,
encourage them
when bravery wears thin,
hold them when all they need
is someone to hold onto
while they dream,
awake or asleep.

Sometimes I forget
the luxuries people have
and hope they never forget
that loving soul
who in times of doubt
reminds that flaws
are not imperfections
but what makes one
unique,
who in times of dread
is the exhale relieving tension,
who in times of despair
restores faith,
that someone
who makes the impossible
feel possible.
