18 Miles Per Second (The Bigger Picture)

Earth revolves around the sun
at 18 miles per second,

more than a thousand miles per minute,

almost 65,000 miles per hour.

Each day,
you are 1.5 million miles from the space
where you were yesterday.

We are travelers,
more so than we are aware.

If you woke up at 8am
yesterday morning
and then 8am this morning,
your bed, with you lying in it,
is 1.5 million miles from the place
you woke up yesterday.

So when you wake up
tomorrow,
remember
the troubles of today
and envision them
so far away.
