Thankful Tree

I think about how much I lost
that I never had,
how much wasn’t really there
when I thought it was.

I think about how much I feel
it’s the delusions
that keep me awake and going
when my nature is to quit.

I think about how much I know
to transcend selfish expectations
as I make time while time
isn’t made for me.

Within boundaries given,
I put pen to paper and write:
“This space to be filled
someday.”

    1. I haven’t read it, but in the last poetry class I took a couple of years ago, a group did a presentation on it, so I got the gist of the story.

By the way, this is only one of two “Thankful” poems. The next one will be up tomorrow, if you’re interested in reading it.

  1. Wonderful goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff previous to and you’re just extremely magnificent.

I really like what you’ve acquired here, really like what you’re stating and the way in which you say it.

You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it
sensible. I cant wait to read much more from you. This
is actually a great web site.

    1. Thank you for the compliments. I appreciate it. 🙂

I apologize for how long it took me to reply. Somehow, your comment ended up in my spam and I didn’t catch it until today.
