Genesis 0:0

a crying soul radiates tears
to keep its cheeks dry and unwrinkled.
it has nowhere to go but up,
but neither knows the way
nor is led there.
the last thing anyone wants to do
is hurt it,
but anything they do
hurts it.
there is no winning for them,
there is no winning for it,
for its fate is only to lose
for its fate is only to lose
for its fate is only to lose
and lose
and lose more
and lose everything
and lose everyone
until nothing remains
until no one remains
until all that can be left
is acceptance of itself
as is,
and acceptance of others
as is,
and acceptance of life
as is.

Isolated. Solitary.

could this be the beginning of
unconditional love?
for in the beginning,
only one in unending darkness
need say,
“let there be light.”
could it be the crying soul
is one of many,
many who reject it without end,
willing it to will
a universe of its own,
in which can live
its imaginary friends?
could a heart shrivel to a big bang
with all that follows being
a mere reflection
of inner chaos felt by
a desolate,
desperate soul
who needs someone
with whom to share,
to understand,
who needs someone
with whom to weep
so as to no more cry alone?
is this how a tolerant and loving
god is born?
