A Grounding

The more I connect with her,
the more I feel her sadness,
her pain, her regret.

The more she reveals to me,
the more her tears are my cries,
my rain, my regret.

I’m here with you now,
but my sorrows are my own.
Soon with you, our sorrows
gathering darkened clouds.

Will anyone hear us?
Hear our aching storms?
Will anyone save us?
Spare us our destruction?

Must we save ourselves?

Solitary in our course, together,
I must die with you,
to live once more, for you.
