31-Day Poem: Day Four

In Lives So Veiled

I close my eyes and take a breath.
Sounds multiply.

Three old friends chatting politics,
one obviously more dominant
than the other two in opinion.
A young woman typing,
her work obviously more important
than the ring she wasn’t wearing.
Teenage boy sitting with girl,
their drama so obviously too much
for them to understand it’s too much.

I am free exactly as I am.

Ah, to not know we don’t know… very clever writing, Gabriel. This will be a very interesting 31 days. I’m enjoying some of the ride. 🙂
