31-Day Poem: Day Nine

As a Lingering to Succumb

I lay my head,
not praying for sleep.
No laughs for sitcoms
while delaying a weep.
Should I? Should I not?

Should I weep? Should I sleep?
Is there a tangible difference
in this monotone deep?

Should I sleep? Should I weep?
Or shall I seek
to regret in dark
a blameless devil’s reap?
