31-Day Poem: Day Thirteen

Though Our Faults Share a Bond

I tell myself
we don’t belong together.
I assure myself
she will find someone better.

Why does she need saving?
Why do I need saving?
Why can’t we be broken
in the company of one another?

Why can’t our slivers and shards
fit flawlessly
as if flawed pieces clasping as one
was meant to be?

  1. I really like this: “Why does she need saving?
    Why do I need saving?
    Why can’t we be broken
in the company of one another?”
This is what life is all about, right?
