31-Day Poem: Day Twenty-Six

When Living Comes at No Cost

I wonder what it would be like with her.

Seeing who falls asleep first
while watching more movies
than we know we can stay awake for.
Singing and cooking and dancing
as I spin her around
while burning the pancakes.
Laughing as we read,
using dialogue to exchange
our bad celebrity impressions.
Being the one she nestles her head upon

when all she wants to do is be with me.
