31-Day Poem: Day Thirty

Where Mercy Can’t Bring Herself to Sing

Someone reaching up
to Heaven’s bliss
as it refuses to match
his caring kiss.

Someone reaching over
to emptiness around,
while a lost soul
begs to be found.

Someone reaching in
to his heart’s truth:
I don’t blame anyone
for me being me.
