Poetry

distant

Let me sit in my desired darkness
Let me sit among ailments within
Let me have a lack of smile and frown
and a want for a tear
on my face to trail down

Let me feel the isolation
Let me feel no tender touch
Let me remain unloved for love is not
for me an allowance
no matter how much sought

My goal is not to be remembered
but to be thoroughly forgot

      1. I have been fighting an infection for at least three weeks, and after two rounds of antibiotics about have it licked. That, and I’m teaching summer school online this year. It keeps me hopping.

      2. Summer school is coming to an end. I am thinking about fall semester. I have 19 of the available seats filled at early registration. That bodes well.
